Financial Privacy & Tax Return Information

Because we provide paid tax preparation services, VIP Choice Service is a “financial institution” under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Nonpublic personal information you provide in connection with tax or financial services — such as Social Security numbers, income information, and tax documents — is used only to provide the services you request. We do not share this information with nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted or required by law, and we maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect it, consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule.

Tax return information is further protected by Internal Revenue Code §§7216 and 6713. We do not use or disclose your tax return information for any purpose other than preparing your return unless you first give us your specific, written consent.

Third-Party Services We Use

Our website and business operate with the help of trusted third-party providers, each of which processes limited information under its own privacy policy: our website host (Bluehost/WordPress); Google Analytics for site statistics (you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s cookie settings); Calendly if you book an appointment; and WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook (Meta) if you choose to contact or follow us there. Clicking those links takes you off our website, and those companies’ privacy policies apply.

Sensitive Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data — including sensitive personal data such as information about immigration status that you may share when requesting ITIN or translation services — consistent with Texas Business & Commerce Code §541.107. Sensitive information you provide is used only to deliver the service you requested.

How to Stop Marketing Communications

You may opt out of marketing at any time: click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email (honored within 10 business days), reply STOP to any text or WhatsApp message from us, or call us at (972) 807-2217. We will still send non-marketing messages related to services you have requested.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal and professional recordkeeping requirements (for example, IRS rules require tax preparers to retain certain return records). When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.

Data Breach Notification

If a data breach affects your unencrypted personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by Texas Business & Commerce Code §521.053 and applicable federal rules.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Optional Website AI Assistants

Updated September 18, 2026. AI in the website’s unified help panel and Tax Start Guide is optional and separate from our tax preparation services. You can use the checklist and organizer, follow service links, or contact VIP without using AI or providing contact information.

When you choose Start AI chat and send a message, your message and recent AI conversation are sent through Cloudflare Workers to Anthropic’s commercial Claude API to generate a response. The request also includes a fixed assistant/page identifier, interface language and privacy-notice version. These assistants do not attach page form entries, checklist selections, organizer amounts, documents, or other browser storage to the AI request. Cloudflare processes technical connection information, including your IP address; providers may process operational and security metadata.

Anthropic’s commercial terms state that API customer content is not used to train its models. Its standard API policy provides deletion of inputs and outputs within 30 days, with exceptions for safety enforcement, legal obligations and other stated circumstances. This service does not promise zero retention, anonymous processing or processing only in the United States. These assistants keep chat history in page memory, not local storage. Clear AI chat or reload the page to remove that browser history; this does not recall previously transmitted messages or delete provider records. Clearing the chat stops pending browser requests where possible, but a request already received by a provider may still be processed. These assistants do not submit AI conversations to our lead form or marketing systems. Starting AI chat is not consent to marketing.

Ask general questions only. Do not submit names, contact details, income amounts, dependent information, SSNs, ITINs, bank information, passwords, documents or personal tax facts. Automated checks block some common patterns but cannot detect every sensitive disclosure. AI answers can be inaccurate and are not tax, legal or immigration advice. VIP must review your individual situation through an appropriate professional engagement and secure intake process.

Starting AI chat is not authorization to use or disclose tax return information under Internal Revenue Code Section 7216. Our Financial Privacy & Tax Return Information protections remain in effect.
